Jeez, 10 days later and you're still sick? Not good. I hope the doc has a magic pill for you that is cheap. If it's a generic, the dreaded W*M has really cheap generics now. Like, under $10 for a lot of them, many just $1!

Feel better soon.

Sometimes people are told "oh it's just a sinus infection" or "oh it's just a cold or a sore throat - that's going around, don't worry". They may say- "it's viral, not bacterial..." (and if correct, that is true, of course, BUT there can be secondary bacterial infections when the body's immune system has been invaded for days one end).

So.....Please tell them you insist on antibiotics. If they have a problem with that, call me. I'm emailing you my cell phone number in just a sec.

Feel better!

And don't forget- THEY are not with you when you're going through days on end of feeling crappy, and THEY are not available quickly should your 'it's just a cold' keep on and on. So be prepared, 'K?

Ha ha, FHH. I'll bet it's especially difficult using Dvorak after a break. ; )

Thanks, K and WW! Yes, it lasted 10 days. Longer than that, in fact. Fifteen. But it will soon be over, as I got antibiotics today. Yay!

Robin, you are a sweetheart! But not to worry. I got medicine today. No doubt I'll be feeling better in no time.

Glad you've got the antibiotics and I hope you feel better very soon. Don't forget to take some probiotics when the antibiotics have finished.

I'm so glad that worked out!

Drink lots of caffeine-free liquids. Say yes to orange juice - that can be your new motto,

What are probiotics?

Hmm. Seems I'm learning new things.

Probiotics are basically "good bacteria" like the ones that usually live in your gut. Antibiotics kill off some of your intestinal flora leaving you more open to infections, including thrush, until the good bacteria are replaced.

Obviously there's no point in taking them till the antibiotics are out of your system or they'll just get killed off again.

Ah. I didn't know you could take probiotics in pill form. I'll have to look for some. Could by why I get sick about every six months.
