Not Much Difference

This is so true.

And if you writer folk ever wonder if my job as a composer is different: it's not. I sit in my chair and I stare at a piece of paper and then write something down. Some days I write something, anything, to get the juices flowing. There are days when I'm amazed at how much this job has in common with sweeping the floor or digging a ditch. It's work, and it's hard.

But I like that it's hard. It beats anything else in the world that I've done. Except writing stories, but I never seem to finish those. Still, writing prose has made a difference in my composing, because I can talk to people in terms of the story and drama.

Also, I'm really happy the health care bill passed. There's a "tunnel at the end of the tunnel" in the words of Paul Krugman, but we're on our way.

Hi

"Yes we can"!!!

And so can you!!

:-)

p.s it is hard work isn't it being creative?!?! It really is 99% perspiration, 1% inspiration (I think that's how the saying goes!).

Take care

I didn't know about the health care bill. That is so good!

I'm glad you're enjoying your work. That makes all the difference.

I hope for all of our sakes your right about the health care bill. I respectfully submit I'm not happy about it.

I love written prose but stink at it myself. I love to try to express myself, but usually end up with other words that don't quite hit the point home. I wish you continued success and understand the hardship of "saying what you mean." Keep it up!

Oh yeah, Abigail! Woot Woot!

I'm learning that is so true, Kitty. I'm learning how to operate when that 1% inspiration doesn't come through.

Yes, Fairy. It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a start.

Uncle Boy, so sorry it took a while to see your comment published! Not used to having to do this yet.

I appreciate your stating your opinion politely, even though we don't agree. Like I said, the bill isn't perfect, but it's a start. As far as the taxes go, I personally don't mind paying higher taxes to have healthcare - although right now that's not going to be an issue, since it's the insurance companies we'll be paying. But that someone cannot be dropped from insurance for being sick or cannot be denied based on their pre-existing conditions is a big step in the right direction.

That's just my take.
