Things falling into place

It's been a long, scary year so far, but in the last week or so, some major things have rather unexpectedly fallen into place. Not everything, but enough that I can start school with a clear head and a lighter-than-usual heart. More than enough, in fact. I feel a whole new affection for this thing we call Life.

Had orientation at school today. Even with one hearing aid missing (it's being repaired), it didn't go too badly. Need one more measles shot before I can register for classes. Hope to take care of that Monday. I'm not terribly excited yet; still decompressing. I'm sure once I get registered—and even more important, get my money—that will change.

I'm moving my blog to 'private' one week from tomorrow (Sunday). Blog authors on my blog roll should already have access. Those of you who would like to be linked, please drop me a comment. Thanks!

I'm so glad things are falling into place for you. I was sure you made the right decision in going back to school, but it's nice you're getting cosmic reinforcement ; )

I'm revved up for you about your program - can't wait to hear your music in movies. This is so freaking cool - and I'm really happy for you, measles shot and all!

The trepidation of the cliff face, while scary, beats the unrelenting flats any day.

Can I stay onboard the good ship Freddie?

Thank you, K! It does kind of feel like I'm getting cosmic reinforcement.

It is pretty cool, isn't it, Robin? I'm getting a little excited myself. Orientation helped it to sink in that it's real. One thing I forgot about—not that I will have a chance to run into her—is that Audrey Niffenegger (The Time Traveler's Wife) teaches at Columbia. I'm kind of amazed at the number and quality of artists (of all kinds) who are alums. So I'm getting excited. And everyone has been so nice so far. It's not a competitive atmosphere at all (not that I won't expect that again in the real world). But still. It will be nice to have a break from that.

Absolutely, WO!! Everyone on my blog list will have access. (If for some reason there's a glitch, just let me know through EE's blog or through Robin or something). I think it would just feel more comfy if the blog is private. And we can gossip freely. (Kidding!)

Actually, I'll probably just be in touch to make sure everyone has access.

Is it okay if I leave a link to you on my blog? That's how I remember to come by and visit!
