I have a strong dislike for overused words and phrases such as "inspirational" and "it changed my life," but this vid truly is inspirational and may just change your life. Be prepared to cry a little. I can't embed, but here's the link. You may have already seen it (especially those in Britain), but the rest of you: watch.
WARNING: The YouTube video plays upon opening. Yes, I know I said I hate these things. But this one is worth it.

Oh for god's sake freddie, I even thought you were /joking/. That'll teach me not to take your warnings seriously...
There is something about an underdog who raises up his head, opens up his mouth, and a frighteningly beautiful sound comes out. What I can't believe is that I hadn't seen this before! thanks for sharing.
Isn't this great?
He has the most wonderful voice and I can hardly believe he was able to do that in such a hostile setting.
I wish the audience had kept quiet, though. I'd have liked to have been able to listen to him a bit more.
I remember this, and it was quite something.
The following year, they had a 12 year old girl called Faryl Smith. Sadly she didn't win — they gave the award to some cocky dancer — but she was astonishing.
I originally saw this last Christmas when D pointed it out to me. I don't know what made me think of it, but I love it.
I thought it was one of those comic videos and I expected him to be awful. Then he comes out and sings like a pro. Such a beautiful voice.
What a shame he wasn't discovered years ago. When did this happen? How have things worked out for him?
I read somewhere that he's now "risking overexposure." I think I may get my dad one of his albums for his b-day this summer. Here's Paul's website: http://www.paulpottsofficial.com/
