Word Count

The NaNoWriMo site is taking forever to let me log in, so I'll probably do a periodic word count here.

So far I'm at a paltry 857 words.

I've already abandoned the Dirk Beefhead novel. Too much of a one-trick pony. Writing hard-boiled crime fiction might be fun, but it takes time for me to come up with similes and metaphors that fit the style and actually sound humorous.

I've started a different one that I think will be a children's book. Not youngish kids, but around twelve. That's not YA, is it?

I'm writing a children's book too, or I should say I've started a children's book.

The Nano site really is slow but I got some writing done while I was waiting for it to load so it's not all bad. That's what I tell myself, anyway.

Dirk Beefhead? ROFL!! Forgive me, but I keep thinking of a term for a guy's manly bits I read somewhere: Meat Popsicle. So, you know, still laughing...

Best wishes on the project!

Oh, ask McK and Chris about kid's lit and the categories. I don't know - but they do!

Good luck!! Keep us posted.

How's it going with Nano?

Oh, it's not going, FHH. I haven't had a chance to look at the book, let alone write anything new. I'm hoping to do some catching up this weekend. We shall see!

Good luck for the weekend! I've got my sister coming tomorrow (Saturday) so I shan't get much done then.
