So my financial aid award does not cover my tuition. Not sure how I'm going to survive, but I'll have plenty of fiber in my diet, what with all those cardboard boxes in the corner.
Oh wait. Those will be for my house when I become homeless.
Good Lord. Well, will they give a student loan to cover the tuition? And what about grants!! Whatever happened to the concept of helping people without adequate financial means, pay for college?
I'm taxed out the ass for all kinds of shit I never use and that is useless, but education and grants for the bright and willing are something I am ALWAYS for. go tell them you want a fucking grant, and for them to get a move on!
No grants are offered graduate students, unfortunately.
As for the extra loan, I don't know yet. The student loan for which I applied is credit based, and I'm afraid my credit really took a hit over the summer with my not being able to find a job. But the standards are minimal. I think I may contact the Department of Education and try to explain I have extenuating circumstances.
Maybe in the long run it will be for the best if I don't get it. I'll be that much less in debt later, and the struggle now will (hopefully) be more likely to pay off. We'll see. I'll keep y'all posted.
